Hello, everyone and thank you all for visiting every month for the next installment of the FACC.
I’ve received a few emails asking when the next lesson will be posted? Well, it has been posted. The actual lessons of the FACC are only up to 18. The rest of the course, 19-24, are profiles on the instructors, like Milton Canniff, Rube Goldberg, Al Capp, Willard Mullins, etc. They are pretty word heavy and in-depth (meaning many pages). Then there’s a supplemental lesson on cartooning for TV, storyboards, etc. That too, is pretty intensive and long, which translates into lots of scanning. Since each page needs to be scanned in 2 halves then merged back together. Photoshop does a decent automated job of merging the halves back into one whole, but it’s not always perfect. You can tell on some of the pages, if you look closely. So, when time permitted, I cleaned them up as best I could.
Anyway… this is a long way of saying that the lessons I have posted 1-17 are the full course. There are no more yellow page assignments after Lesson 18: Lettering.
Now GO! become cartoonists and check back often for more inspiration!!! =)
